Construction Update — Yellow Section 9/5/25

Construction update from RCOC

Next week

  • Springline will continue curb/driveway approach removal and underdrain installation on the second sides of streets in the Indian Mound area and part of Glengarry Circle East (areas marked in green, yellow, pink, blue on the map below).

  • Late next week, likely starting Thursday 9/11, Doan will begin installing curbs and driveway approaches in the prepared areas. Cadillac will place notices on front doors of impacted residents about 48 hours prior to the start of curbing. As a reminder, when curbs/driveway approaches are laid, impacted residents will not have access to their driveways for about 14 days. See further discussion HERE.

  • DVM will be lining clay pipes on Wednesday 9/10. This work may involve temporary blocking streets, requiring drivers to detour around the work.

Looking ahead

Around the week of September 15, Springline will be moving to Glengarry Circle East then to N. Glengarry (orange area on map below) for curb/driveway approach removal and underdrain installation once the blue area is prepped for curbs. They will move north toward Quarton. Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs will follow (purple area on map below).

Bus stops in the construction areas

The Road Commission has been in contact with BPS Transportation Department regarding the Gold and Yellow section road projects, so that BPS can adjust bus stops out of the construction zones. Changes to bus stops will be communicated directly to families from BPS. We have been told that the bus stop in the Indian Mound area has been moved to Covington/Indian Mound and the bus stop on Sandringham has been moved to Sandringham and Quarton. Families with questions/concerns about the bus stops should speak directly with BPS. To keep everyone safe, please ensure your children walk only on the sidewalk and stay away from any and all construction work/equipment.

Swimming pool draining/closing

With fall upon us, residents will begin having their pools drained and closed for the season. While our roads are under construction, water from pools being drained cannot be released into the street, especially where there are open trenches and/or once the existing asphalt has been removed to prepare for paving. Pool water will soak the sub-grades and may cause failure of new curbs and the new road. Residents with pools will need to ensure their contractors either drain pool water to be absorbed in their own yards, or truck the water away. Please be considerate of your neighbors and other residents and keep your pool water out of the street this year.

Where do I park?

Avoid parking during the workday on any street where there is active construction. After hours, street parking is fine; please remove vehicles from the street by 7 am. Also, refrain from parking directly across the street from someone’s driveway, so they will be able to get in/out. Suggested alternatives:

  • Arrange with a neighbor across the street to park in their driveway.

  • In general, park behind the work. Once the curbs and driveway approaches are poured on a given street, there will be little/no construction activity on that street until the concrete cures. Park on the side opposite the new curbs.

  • Glengarry Circle East residents — park on Glengarry closer to Bradway, on Glengarry Circle West, on Williamsbury or on Amberly.

  • Indian Mound South — park further south, in the section of IMS that is not in the Village.

  • Indian Mound Trail — park on Glengarry closer to Bradway or on the part of Indian Mound South that is not in the Village.

  • Indian Mound West — park on Glengarry closer to Bradway, on Glengarry Circle West or the block of Glengarry between the north and south intersections with Glengarry Circle. After the driveways are poured on Indian Mound Trail, park on the side opposite the new curbs.

  • Indian Mound E and Indian Mound Road — For those that don’t mind a bit of a walk, Kent Ridge Court or Covington School would be options. Once the driveways are poured on Indian Mound Trail that would be an option as well.

Regardless of where you park, please lock your car and take the keys with you.
