Construction Update — Yellow Section 10/15/25
Construction update from Road Commission
***** All planned timing is weather permitting *****
Remainder of this week
Doan will complete remaining concrete driveway approaches on Glengarry, Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs Thursday 10/16. Indian Mound driveways will wait until after the first layer of paving. Parking suggestions for impacted residents are provided HERE.
Fort Wayne will adjust the heights of structures in the road in preparation for paving. This work can require temporary blockage of the street and require vehicles to detour around it. Cones are in place to mark the areas where the adjustment will be done.
Thursday 10/15 through Saturday 10/17, Miller Brothers will mill the asphalt from the roads in the Indian Mound area. This work will begin at the west entrance to Indian Mound and work toward Covington.
Springline will begin grading as milling is completed on each street. Grading can take several days per street, depending on the condition of the subgrade. See information below on milling and grading operations and the impact on access/parking.
Mike’s Landscaping will continue with sprinkler repairs, topsoil and sod. They will shift out of the Indian Mound area during milling and grading, returning after the first layer of paving is completed.
Next week
Springline will continue grading in the Indian Mound area to prepare the subgrade for paving. Once the Indian Mound area is completed (ready for paving), they will move to Glengarry Circle East and Glengarry.
On Monday 10/20, Doan will pour concrete curbs around the three islands in the Indian Mound area.
Miller Brothers will begin milling (asphalt removal) on Glengarry and Glengarry Circle East early next week, probably Monday. Once Glengarry and Glengarry Circle are completed, they will move on to mill Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs, as early as Wednesday 10/22.
Late next week, Cadillac will pave the first layer of asphalt in the Indian Mound area. This is tentatively scheduled for Friday 10/24 and Saturday 10/25, but is subject to change. Paving in Indian Mound will take two days with a full-width paver. Streets being paved will be completely closed to all traffic and parking. Residents will not have access to their driveways — in or out - on the paving day. We are working with Cadillac on the logistics of paving and preserving access to bus stops if paving occurs on a school day.
Mike’s Landscaping will continue with sprinkler repairs, topsoil and sod.
Weeks of October 27 and November 3
Springline will continue grading on Glengarry/Glengarry Circle East until those streets are ready for paving, then move to Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs. The first lift of asphalt paving on Glengarry Circle East and Glengarry will likely be scheduled sometime the week of October 27. Paving for Sandringham and cul-de-sacs will likely be scheduled the week of November 3.
Milling and grading
During milling and grading, residents will have access to their driveways, although they may experience delays as the equipment moves along the street. NO STREET PARKING IS PERMITTED DURING MILLING, GRADING OR PAVING. Vehicles parked in the street during the workday are subject to towing. Residents on tight schedules will want to park outside of the Indian Mound area on the milling days in particular. See suggestions below.
Springline will complete grading on each street the day before it is scheduled for paving. There will be barrels at various intervals along the street. Drive slowly to avoid damaging the subgrade.
See additional information on milling and grading HERE.
Cadillac will place flaggers to notify drivers of roads that are closed or blocked. There may also be barricades in place. Please respect the barricades and obey the flaggers instructions — this will ensure the best possible quality road surface on which will drive for many years.
Parking during milling and grading
There can be no street parking during milling or grading operations. Driveways will be accessible and are the best option for parking during these operations. Note that there may be delays in getting into/out of driveways and down the street, particularly during milling. Leave early and allow extra time.
Other than driveways, parking options would be:
Dorstone, Kent Ridge Ct. or Covington School for residents on the east side of the Indian Mound area.
For residents on the west side of Indian Mound — Indian Mound S outside of the Village, Glengarry south of the Circle, Amberly, Glengarry Circle West or Williamsbury are options.
For residents on Glengarry Circle East and the southern part of Glengarry — Amberly, Williamsbury and Glengarry Circle West will be the closest options.
For residents on the northern part of Glengarry — parking on Sandringham or at Covington School will be the closest options.
Sprinkler winterization
If your sod is installed and sprinklers have been repaired, go ahead and have sprinklers winterized. Where this restoration work has not been completed, try to delay winterization as long as possible, to give Mike’s a chance to repair sprinklers. Mike’s will be back in the spring to complete repairs on anything they missed this fall.
Garbage pick-up
Place garbage/recycling out on Thursday night/Friday morning as you would normally. If your street is scheduled for milling or grading, place the cans behind the curb where they will not impede milling or grading equipment - Priority can still pick them up. The contractors will have to work with Priority to allow garbage/recycling trucks to get through. If your pick-up is missed, call Priority directly. 855-927-8365 or 586-228-1200.
