Tuesday 11/11
Miller Brothers will be profile milling in the Indian Mound area, on Glengarry Circle East, the southern part of Sandringham, and segments of N. Glengarry (1322 to 1440 N. Glengarry and 932 to 1052 N. Glengarry). Profile milling is done where the first layer of asphalt is more than the standard 2.5 inches thick and thus doesn’t leave enough room for the second layer. The mill removes limited amounts of the first layer of asphalt to result in a consistent 1.5 inches of space between the first layer and the curb height. The second and final layer of asphalt will be laid at 1.5 inches thick. (Total thickness of asphalt upon completion will be 4 inches — 2.5 inches for the first layer plus 1.5 inches on the second layer.)
Miller Brothers will also be removing 3 small areas of the asphalt base for repair on Indian Mound East (near 1296 and 1274 IME), Indian Mound South (near 2723 and 2709 IMS) and Indian Mound Road at Glengarry Circle East.
No parking on the street in the Indian Mound area or Glengarry Circle East on Tuesday. Street parking on Sandringham north of Twin Maples is fine. Avoid the areas on N. Glengarry where milling will be done. Your best option is to park in your driveway or arrange with a neighbor to park in theirs. You will have access to the street, although there may be temporary delays.
Wednesday 11/12
Driveways — Cadillac will start with base asphalt layer on Glengarry Circle East, then move into the Indian Mound area for base layer on 12 drives left there. Once every drive has a base coat, they will pour as many top layers as they can. Most likely, drives that aren’t finished on Wednesday will be done next week, after the final layer of asphalt paving is done throughout the Yellow (and Gold) section.
If you are getting an asphalt drive, plan to be out of the driveway for the day.
Parking suggestions — arranging with a neighbor to park in their driveway is the best option. Otherwise, Indian Mound West is a good option (stay away from 1250 Indian Mound West) or Glengarry Circle East (north of 950 Glengarry Circle East) or the part of Indian Mound South that is not in the Village. Avoid Indian Mound Road and Indian Mound East as there are lots of driveways to be done there. If you have to park in the street in other parts of the area, leave room between your vehicle and any driveway that isn’t done yet.
Thursday 11/13
Paving in Indian Mound area moved to Friday 11/14 - Cadillac will start with base repairs in the 3 spots milled on Tuesday. Paving order is shown on the map below and will be:
Repairs to base layer at the west entrance, on Indian Mound South and on Indian Mound East (marked in green on map).
Start final layer paving at west entrance, then move to south end of Indian Mound South. Pave south to north up to Indian Mound West, then across the top of the square. Cadillac plans to pave all of the area marked in yellow on the map on Thursday.
Doan will be pouring concrete on ADA ramps, remaining concrete walkways, and remaining driveways and making concrete repairs. This work will continue Thursday and Friday.
Paving on Glengarry Circle East has been rescheduled to Thursday 11/13
Friday 11/14
Begin paving in Indian Mound area (see detail above)
Finish paving in Indian Mound area moved to Saturday 11/15. Start on Indian Mound East where they left off on Thursday Friday, pave Indian Mound East, then Indian Mound Trail (north to south), then move to the west end of Indian Mound Road and pave out to Covington. Areas are marked in blue on the map, with the numbers indicating the planned order.
We have requested that Priority Waste postpone garbage pick-up in the Indian Mound area until Monday 11/17. We will post on the blog when we have confirmation.
Saturday 11/15
Paving on Glengarry Circle East moved to Thursday 11/13 (starting at south end and moving north).

Tuesday 11/18 and Wednesday 11/19
Fort Wayne will adjust the height of manholes in the roadways. These have been covered with asphalt during paving. Fort Wayne will remove the asphalt covering, raise the structure to be level with the pavement, and install a concrete collar. The concrete will need to cure for several days and will be coned off. This work may block the street for several hours, and traffic may need to detour. You will want to allow a little extra time to navigate our newly paved roads while this work is going on.
Access limitations during paving, parking suggestions
Roads being paved will be completely closed to all traffic and parking. Residents will not have access to their driveways — in or out — on paving day until the street is reopened at the end of the day.
The west entrance to the Indian Mound area will be closed for paving on Thursday 11/13 Friday 11/14 and should reopen by the end of the day. Indian Mound South, Indian Mound West and part of Indian Mound East will also be closed (roads shown in yellow on the map below). On Thursday Friday, residents will be able to access Indian Mound Road from Covington; however, asphalt trucks will be using that same entrance and it will be congested. If you live in the areas marked in blue on the map below, you should be able to access your street, but plan ahead and leave extra time as you may have to wait 5-10 minutes to get in/out at Covington Road.
On Friday 11/14 Saturday 11/15, the Covington entrance to the Indian Mound area will be closed for paving, as will Indian Mound Trail, Indian Mound Road and Indian Mound East (blue area on map below). These roads should re-open by the end of the day. The west entrance off of Glengarry Circle East will be open and can be used to access Indian Mound South and Indian Mound West (i.e., the areas that were paved on Thursday will be open for traffic and parking on Friday).
