Gold Section Schedule Update — 11/4/25
Schedule Update from Cadillac
***** ALL PLANNED TIMING IS WEATHER PERMITTING *****
The weather forecast for Saturday (11/8) includes a chance of rain; Monday’s (11/10) forecast shows highs in the 30s. If either or both of these forecasts hold true, paving will be delayed for dryer, warmer weather. We will post schedule updates on the blog as soon as we have them.
Remainder of this week
Wednesday 11/5 - Cadillac will pour asphalt driveways and repair asphalt base in a handful of spots. Residents getting asphalt driveways have been separately notified.
Saturday 11/8 — Cadillac will pave the top layer of asphalt on the first group of streets — Glengarry, Hamilton, Chewton and Clifton. If the crew has time in the afternoon, they will move over to Chewton Cross and then N. Clifton.
Mike’s Landscaping will be repairing sprinkler lines where sleeves were installed under driveways, sidewalks, ADA ramps. They will place topsoil and sod in areas next to asphalt drives and where they have repaired sprinkler lines.
Next week
Monday 11/10 — Cadillac will pave the top layer of asphalt on Williamsbury, Morningview, Chewton Cross and N. Clifton (if not done on Saturday). The weather forecast looks iffy for Monday paving — keep an eye on the blog for updates if high temps in the 30s remain in the forecast.
Friday 11/15 — Cadillac will pave the top layer on Cranbrook Cross.
Mike’s will continue restoration (sprinklers, topsoil and sod) where needed.
Week of November 17
Fort Wayne will core manholes in the roadway, adjust heights to street level, and pour concrete collars around them. Havener will spray new linings into the structures.
Final paving — access and parking restrictions
The final layer of paving — the wearing course — is the surface on which we will drive for many years. As with the first course, streets being paved will be completely closed to all traffic and parking.
On the paving day, Cadillac will first spray “tack” over the current asphalt. The tack is like a black tar used to “glue” the two layers of asphalt together. Do not drive, bike or walk across the tack — it will stick to tires/shoes/cars, will track onto driveways, etc. and cannot be removed. The contractors will not be responsible for attempting to remedy tack that gets on any surface in such circumstances.
Day 1 paving — Glengarry, Hamilton, Chewton and Clifton will be paved south-to-north. Asphalt trucks will be staged on Bradway and back into the streets to supply the pavers using Cranbrook Cross, Morningview as well as Bradway. Residents are advised to avoid Cranbrook Cross, Morningview and Bradway on the Day 1 paving day.
Parking for Day 1 paving. Cadillac will place “No Parking” signs where parking is not allowed:
Glengarry residents can park on Williamsbury or any street north of Bradway.
Hamilton residents can park north of Bradway, on Morningview near N. Clifton, or on Williamsbury.
Chewton residents can park on Cranbrook Cross near Maple, or on Overhill south of Morningview. (Don’t park on Chewton Cross or on N. Clifton, in case the paving crew is able to get to these streets on Day 1.)
Clifton residents should park on Overhill south of Morningview, leaving at least 150 feet between your vehicle and the corner with Morningview.
PLEASE do not park near the corners with Bradway or Cranbook Cross. Avoid parking on Morningview near Clifton and N. Clifton as asphalt trucks will be backing in from this area and need room to navigate.
Day 2 paving - Williamsbury will be paved south to north, with trucks backing in from Bradway or Cranbrook Cross. Morningview will be paved east to west with trucks backing in from Overhill. Chewton Cross will be paved east to west; N. Clifton will be paved from south to north. Trucks for both of these will be backed in from Morningview.
Parking for Day 2 paving. Cadillac will place “No Parking” signs where parking is not allowed:
Williamsbury residents can park on Glengarry or north of Bradway.
N Clifton and Chewton Cross residents can park on Clifton. Leave plenty of space between your vehicle and any corner.
Morningview residents can park on Overhill south of Morningview, or on Hamilton north of Morningview. Leave plenty of space between your vehicle and any corner.
Cranbrook Cross residents should park on Glengarry or Hamilton south of Cranbrook Cross, leaving plenty of space between your vehicle and a corner.
Cranbrook Cross paving — Trucks will be stages on Bradway; Cadillac will pave from Maple toward Bradway. Residents can park on Hamilton, Williamsbury or Glengarry, at least 150 feet from a corner with Cranbrook Cross. We will work with Bloomfield Township to arrange alternate garbage pick-up dates for Cranbrook Cross residents if necessary.
