Construction Update — Yellow Section 10/22/25

Schedule update from Road Commission

***** All planned work is weather dependent *****

Remainder of this week

  • Springline will continue grading in the Indian Mound area, Glengarry Circle East and N. Glengarry.

  • On Thursday, 10/23, Glengarry Circle East will be closed between Indian Mound Road and the south intersection with Glengarry for removal of deteriorated areas of the sub-grade and replacement with new material. This closure will begin around 7 am and continue most of the day. Drivers will need to detour around the closure.

  • With the weather today washing out most work, Doan will now pour the concrete curbs around the Indian Mound islands on Saturday 10/25, along with other miscellaneous concrete work.

  • Miller Brothers will continue milling the cul-de-sacs (today) and then Sandringham (Thursday 10/23). The mill and gravel trucks will move slowly down the street and will block access for periods of time. In the cul-de-sacs, it will be difficult for residents to get around the mill. Residents that need their vehicles during milling will want to park in an alternate location (outside of the Yellow section construction zone). See further information below.

  • Mike’s Landscaping received a fresh truckload of sod this morning. Their goal is to complete topsoil and sod in the Indian Mound area, then move on to Glengarry/Glengarry Circle East.

Next week

  • Final grading in the Indian Mound area in preparation for paving will be done early next week. Grading will continue on Glengarry/Glengarry Circle East, and will begin on Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs. There can be no street parking during grading; parking in your driveway is the best option.

  • The first course of asphalt paving in the Indian Mound area will take place over two days next week, as early as Wednesday and Thursday. Paving will begin at the west entrance, then onto Indian Mound S, then around the west side then north side of the square. On day 2, paving will cover Indian Mound Trail, the south side of the square, and the east side of the square, with the east entrance paved last. As a reminder, roads being paved will be completely closed to all traffic and parking; residents will not have access to their driveways — in or out - until the asphalt is cooled sufficiently and the road reopened. See additional information on paving HERE. More specifics on Indian Mound paving will provided next week.

  • Paving on Glengarry Circle East/Glengarry is scheduled later in the week, perhaps on Saturday 11/1. More specifics will be provided next week.

Week of November 3

  • Grading will be finalized on Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs early in the week, followed by the first course of asphalt paving.

Looking ahead

Once the first course of asphalt is laid:

  • Contractors will install “M-openings” — concrete gutter across the roadway — in about 12 locations. This will require closure of the road at the gutter location for about a week.

  • Asphalt driveways will be installed.

  • Restoration of sprinklers, topsoil and sod will continue, including in the areas around the asphalt drives.

Milling and grading

During milling and grading, residents will have access to their driveways, although they may experience delays as the equipment moves along the street. NO STREET PARKING IS PERMITTED DURING MILLING, GRADING OR PAVING. Vehicles parked in the street during the workday are subject to towing. Residents on tight schedules will want to park outside of Yellow section construction zone on the milling days in particular.

Springline will complete grading on each street the day before it is scheduled for paving. There will be barrels at various intervals along the street. Drive slowly to avoid damaging the subgrade.

See additional information on milling and grading HERE.

Cadillac will place flaggers to notify drivers of roads that are closed or blocked. There may also be barricades in place. Please respect the barricades and obey the flaggers instructions — this will ensure the best possible quality road surface on which will drive for many years.

Parking during milling and grading

Driveways will be accessible and are the best option for parking during these operations. Note that there may be delays in getting into/out of driveways and down the street, particularly during milling. Leave early and allow extra time.
