Construction Update - Gold Section 7/9/25

Construction update from RCOC

Construction planned for the rest of this week and next week is summarized below. Please note that all planned activities are weather permitting.

Remainder of this week

  • Springline will continue curb/driveway approach removals on the second sides of the streets in the Gold section, followed by underdrain installation and preparation of the trenches to receive concrete curbs. Removals and underdrain installation will generally be done in the green area, then blue, then bright orange, then yellow (colors as shown on the map below). This work will continue into next week. See further discussion of curb/driveway removals and driveway access limitations HERE.

  • Doan will complete curbs and concrete driveway approaches on the seconds sides of Williamsbury and Glengarry, then will work on curbs and ADA ramps where there are currently gaps (usually at the corners).

  • Mike’s Landscaping will be reinstating sprinklers and brick pavers where curbs have been laid.

  • Fort Wayne will be in the Gold section on Friday 7/11 adjusting structures that will be located in the new curbs.

Next week

  • Springline will continue curb/driveway approach removals and underdrain installation throughout the week.

  • The current plan is for Doan to resume curbing on the second sides of the streets the week on July 21; IF the weather cooperates, it is possible that some curbs could begin late the week of July 14 (next week). Notices will be posted on front doors about 48 hours prior to the start of curbing work. Once the curbing process begins, impacted residents will not be able to access their driveways for about 14 days. See discussion of the process, driveway access and parking limitations HERE.

  • Once curing is completed for concrete curbs and driveway approaches on the second sides of Glengarry and Williamsbury, Mike’s Landscaping will begin to install topsoil and sod behind the curbs on the first sides of those streets. This work may begin toward the end of next week.

  • Fort Wayne is scheduled be in the Gold section on Thursday 7/17 adjusting structures.

Looking ahead

Doan expects there will be some tweaks in the order curbs will be laid on second sides of streets in the green, blue, bright orange and yellow areas (see map below), as compared to the first sides of those streets. This is because curbs are installed on the right side of the machine, and the contractor tries to lay the curb continuously. Residents on Hamilton, Morningview, the Cliftons and Chewtons, and Cranbrook Cross will want to check the blog next week for more details on the sequencing of streets for second-side curbs.
