Construction Update — Gold Section 7/30/25

Construction Update from Road Commission

**** All planned timing is weather permitting ****

Remainder of this week

  • Doan will finish up concrete driveway approaches and ADA ramps in the Gold section; they anticipate all concrete work for the section will be completed by the end of the week.

  • Mike’s will continue restoration work on the first sides of Glengarry and Williamsbury with sod placement on the prepared topsoil starting Thursday 7/31. Mike’s will then move on to the first sides of Hamilton, Morningview, etc., placing topsoil and laying sod. Residents will want to turn sprinklers back on to water the new sod once it is laid. Sprinkler restoration has been largely completed on the first sides of Gold section streets. Please email Wayne Dabrowski at wdabrowski@rcoc.org and Mark Meszler at mmeszler@roadrehab.solutions if you identify any necessary sprinkler repairs once sprinklers in the construction zones are reactivated.

  • Springline has begun removing turf, etc. from behind the new curbs on the second sides of the streets, in preparation for Mike’s to begin restoration. This work will continue into next week.

Next week

  • Mike’s will continue restoration work on the first sides of Hamilton, Morningview, and the rest of the Gold section streets. They anticipate placing sod on the prepared topsoil on Hamilton, etc. on Wednesday 8/6. Residents will want to turn sprinklers back on to water the new sod once it is laid.

  • Springline will complete removals of turf etc. behind the new curbs on the second sides of the streets early next week.

Looking ahead

The current plan is for Mike’s Landscaping to complete restoration work throughout the Gold section before the paving process begins. The paving process includes removal of remaining asphalt from the rest of the road (milling), removal of damaged sub-base, adding/removing stone base as needed, grading of the sub-grade, and then two layers of paving. Completion of the restoration work prior to paving will facilitate shorter time between the two layers of asphalt, and less clean-up of the first layer before the second layer is placed. Cadillac anticipates that the paving process will begin in the Gold section sometime around Labor Day.

Parking during construction

Please avoid parking during the workday on any street where there is active construction activity. After hours, vehicles can be parked on the street but need to be removed before construction starts the following morning at 7 am.
