Construction Update — Gold Section 10/1/25
Project update from RCOC
***** All planned timing is weather permitting *****
Remainder of this week
Springline will complete grading on Morningview Terrace and Williamsbury today (10/1) in preparation for paving.
On Thursday 10/2, Cadillac is scheduled to pave Williamsbury then Morningview Terrace with the first of two asphalt layers. These streets will be completely closed to all traffic and parking on the paving day. Residents will not have access to their driveways — in or out — until the road is reopened. Residents will need to plan ahead and park elsewhere before 7:00 am if they need to leave their driveways on paving day. Please inform lawn crews, contractors, sitters and guests of the road closures and parking restrictions. Vehicles parked in the street impeding the paving process will be towed. See further information, including parking suggestions below.
Next week
On Tuesday 10/7, Miller Brothers will begin milling on the second half of Gold section streets — Cranbrook Cross, Chewton Cross, Chewton and the Cliftons (in that order). See discussion below regarding this operation, including suggestions for daytime parking.
Springline is scheduled to begin grading the milled streets on Thursday 10/9. This work will continue into next week.
Week of October 13
Grading on Cranbrook Cross, the Chewtons and Cliftons could take 4-5 days total, depending on the condition of the subgrade. Once grading is completed, Cadillac will pave with the first layer of asphalt. Paving is tentatively planned for Wednesday 10/15.
Milling and grading
During milling and grading, residents will have access to their driveways, although they may experience delays as the equipment moves along the street. NO STREET PARKING IS PERMITTED DURING MILLING, GRADING OR PAVING. Vehicles parked in the street during the workday are subject to towing.
Springline will complete grading on each street the day before it is scheduled for paving. There will be barrels at various intervals along the street. Drive slowly to avoid damaging the subgrade.
See additional information on milling and grading HERE.
Paving on Williamsbury and Morningview Terrace
For Williamsbury, Cadillac will pave south to north (from Maple to Bradway, skipping over Cranbrook Cross), using a full-width paving process. For the south block, asphalt trucks will be staged on Cranbrook Cross and back into Williamsbury to supply the paver. For the north block, the asphalt trucks will be staged on Bradway and back into Williamsbury.
For Morningview, Cadillac will pave east to west, starting at Hamilton. Asphalt trucks will be staged on Overhill and will back into Morningview to supply the paver.
The asphalt will be very hot when laid — do not walk on it or allow your pets to do so. Once the asphalt has sufficiently cooled, Cadillac will reopen the street.
As indicated above, streets will be completely closed to all traffic and parking on the paving day. Please inform lawn/landscape crews of scheduled paving days and request that they come on a different day.
Parking suggestions
Cadillac will place “No parking” signs where parking is prohibited during milling, grading and paving. This will include areas on Bradway, Cranbrook Cross and Overhill where the asphalt trucks will be staging or where the space is needed for the equipment to navigate turns.
During paving of Morningview and Williamsbury
Williamsbury residents can park on the block north of Bradway, on Glengarry or on Hamilton.
Morningview residents can park on Morningview west of Overhill, on Hamilton, on Clifton or N. Clifton.
Please do not park on Cranbrook Cross as it will be used for staging asphalt trucks.
Parking during milling/grading of Cranbrook Cross, Chewtons and Cliftons
Cranbrook Cross — park on Glengarry, Williamsbury or Hamilton, leaving about 150 feet between your vehicle and a corner.
Chewtons and Cliftons — park on Hamilton or Morningview or Overhill.
Please refrain from parking where there are “no parking signs”.
Garbage pick-up
Place garbage/recycling out on Thursday night/Friday morning as you would normally. If your street is scheduled for milling or grading, place the cans behind the curb - Priority can still pick them up and they will not impede milling or grading equipment. The contractor will have to work with Priority to allow garbage/recycling trucks to get through. If your pick-up is missed, call Priority directly. 855-927-8365 or 586-228-1200.
