Construction Update — Yellow Section 9/24/25
Construction update from RCOC
**** ALL PLANNED WORK IS WEATHER PERMITTING ****
Remainder of this week
With rain in the forecast all day, today (9/24) is a washout, with no construction work planned.
Thursday 9/25 and Friday 9/26, Doan will be pouring concrete curbs and driveways on Glengarry and Glengarry Circle East, plus concrete driveways in any other areas where curb has already been poured. Doan will also be pouring curbs around the islands in the Indian Mound area. This work may continue into Saturday 9/27 and possibly into Monday 9/29.
Springline will complete underdrain installation on Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs, in preparation for curbing next week.
Mike’s Landscaping continues restoration work behind the new curbs. This includes sprinkler repairs, topsoil and then sod. Sod deliveries are scheduled weekly.
Next week
Doan is planning to start curbs on Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs on Monday 9/29, although the work may be delayed until Tuesday to allow completion of the Indian Mound islands. Cadillac will post front door notices about 48 hours before the curbing will begin. As a reminder, residents will not have access to driveways for about 14 days during curbing. Please have all vehicles out of driveways/garages and parked elsewhere before 7 am on the date shown on the notice, to avoid getting blocked in. See more information on curbing HERE and parking suggestions below.
Doan will pour concrete driveways within a day or two of curbs being laid.
Mike’s Landscaping will continue sprinkler repairs, topsoil and sod behind the curbs.
Looking ahead
Milling (removal of asphalt from the road) will begin in the Yellow section the week of 10/6, followed by grading of the sub-grade in preparation for paving. Cadillac is still working out the sequencing of streets from milling and grading. We should have a sequencing plan next week.
Access limitations during curbing
Please note that on the day the curbs are laid, the concrete will be wet and cannot handle foot traffic. Residents will need to navigate the gaps on both sides of the new curb. Springline will fill the area between the street and the curb a day or two later.
Parking options for residents on Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs during the workday:
Arrange with a neighbor on the east side of Sandringham to park in their driveway.
Park on Ardmoor or the west side of Glengarry, where curbs are already completed.
For residents at the south end, Glengarry Circle West would also be an option.
Once Doan completes curbs/driveway approaches on Sandringham and the cul-de-sacs, there will be little/no construction work until the concrete is cured. Street parking opposite the new curbs is fine during this period.
Sprinkler winterization
Where sod is not yet installed, residents are encouraged to delay winterization of their systems as long as possible, to allow Mike’s to repair them this fall. If sod has already been installed behind your curbs and your sprinklers are operating properly, there is no need to delay winterization.
Swimming pool draining/closing
While our roads are under construction, water from pools being drained cannot be released into the street, especially once the existing asphalt has been removed. Pool water will soak the sub-grades and may cause failure of the new road. Residents with pools will need to ensure their contractors either drain pool water into their own yards, or truck the water away. Please be considerate of your neighbors and other residents and keep your pool water out of the street this year.
