Construction Update — Yellow Section 6/25/25
Construction update from RCOC
Pre-construction work will resume in the Yellow section starting next week, in preparation for construction scheduled to start in mid- to late-July.
Next week, Mike’s Landscaping will begin prepping sprinklers in the Yellow section by confirming they are operational and moving heads back from the area to be impacted by construction. If Mike’s in unable to locate the sprinkler controls to turn on the sprinklers, they may knock on residents’ doors to ask for assistance. Mike’s will begin on Glengarry between the north and south ends of Glengarry Circle, move to Glengarry Circle East, then into the Indian Mound area.
After the July 4 holiday weekend, Mike’s will continue sprinkler relocations and begin removals of brick pavers and other decorative materials from driveway and service walk areas that will be impacted by the construction. Mike’s will set aside materials removed and will reinstall them once the road is paved. Decorative materials other than pavers (e.g., blue stone) can be difficult to remove without breaking them. Some of these materials are difficult (if not impossible) to match if they can’t be reused. Mike’s will reinstall materials that can be successfully removed and set aside, and will attempt to match bluestone and similar materials for reinstallation after paving. Residents with service walks of bluestone or other more delicate decorative materials may feel more comfortable having their own contractors remove them, thinking there will be less breakage. Please note that if you choose to have your own contractor remove and/or reinstall materials, you will not be reimbursed for the cost. For further details on preparing the right of way for construction, see blog post HERE.
All road project work will conclude and contractors will be out of the neighborhood by 3 pm on Thursday, July 3 in advance of the holiday weekend. There will be no construction work on July 4; work will resume on Monday July 7.
Construction sequencing in the Yellow section
Cadillac has provided the map below which depicts the general sequence in which Yellow section construction will be done. The contractors will address one side of the road through installation of curbs, then flip to the other side of the street for the same series of steps to install curb on the opposite side. This will be the case throughout the Yellow section except for the cul-de-sacs off Sandringham (Twin Maples, Aberdovey, Courtleigh, Hemsworth). To minimize disruption to the residents and facilitate a more efficient construction process, both sides of the street will be done at the same time on these 4 cul-de-sacs.
Tentative construction sequencing for the Yellow section will be:
Orange on the map below (Glengarry Circle East and Glengarry between the north and south intersections with Glengarry Circle);
Green on the map (small segment of Indian Mound Road entering the Indian Mound area from E Glengarry Circle);
Yellow on the map (Indian Mound area — the specific sequence the streets in this area will be addressed is not yet determined);
Pink on the map (Glengarry north of the Circle and Sandringham);
Blue on the map (cul-de-sacs off Sandringham).
Future communication
We will provide future construction updates at least weekly, primarily via blog post. Residents will want to check this website frequently for updates. About once a week, we will also email residents on the Village email list, with a link to the blog post that provides the relevant information. Please make sure to click the through the links in the email to get all the details.
