Construction Update — Green Section 9/16/26
*** Please do not drain your pool into the street, especially during the road construction. Pool water can soak and deteriorate the sub-grades, which can in turn result in deterioration of the new asphalt. We have come too far and paid too much to have our new roads damaged by pool water. Pool water should be drained on your property this year. ***

Reminder of this week
Allied is paving Phase 2 streets today in the following order: Tuckahoe, Sunnydale, Hupp Cross, Drury, Morningview, Overhill. They will try to complete all six streets today; however, it is possible that Drury, Morningview and Overhill will be paved on Friday 9/18. Allied will continue edge drain installation and preparation for curbs on both sides of Bradway from Hamilton to Lahser. This work will continue into next week.
Don’s Restoration has begun laying topsoil in Phase 1. They will be doing sprinkler repairs as well.

Curb and driveway approach removals on Bradway east of Hamilton could possibly begin next week, but the week of September 28 is more likely.
Week of September 28
Installation of concrete curbs and gutters on the west end of Bradway is now planned for the week of September 28.
The intersection of Bradway and Lahser will be closed for 7-10 days starting sometime the week of September 28 for installation of a concrete gutter (“M-opening”) across the intersection. Traffic will need to detour around the closure.
Curb and driveway approach removals on Bradway east of Hamilton will likely start the week of September 28.
Looking ahead
Milling (asphalt removal) on the west end of Bradway will likely begin in early October.
Traffic and parking on Bradway
Residents should anticipate that Bradway will be temporarily blocked as construction moves along at the west end. Materials and equipment are being stored in the street, close to where they will be used, narrowing the lanes available for traffic to pass. Please respect the barricades and cones indicating the road is blocked ahead. Need to figure out at detour? Click HERE for a Village map.
DO NOT PARK ON BRADWAY west of Hamilton during the workday. Remove vehicles parked overnight by 6:30 am.
Fall weather
Construction progress through the end of the project will be heavily dependent on weather; if the weather stays dry, the construction crews can make much quicker progress. With cooler temperatures, it takes longer for the ground to dry after a rain, which can result in one day of rain costing two (or three) days of progress. Concrete will take longer to cure with cooler temps as well. These factors will impact the timing and predictability of the remaining work in the Green section.
Water pooling in the streets
If we encounter more heavy rains, there will likely be water pooling in the streets. This is to be expected. The contractors have placed soil erosion bags in construction area drains to keep construction debris out of our combined sewer system; the bags are required by law. Water will drain through the bags, but more slowly than through an open drain. As a result, water will pool in the streets, but will drain over time. The contractor will be checking the bags and clearing those that are filled with debris, which will help the water to drain.
Additionally, in Phase 1 where the first layer of asphalt has been placed, the level of the pavement is below the concrete curb/gutter. Water on the pavement thus cannot shed from the pavement into the gutter and then to the drains. This will be remedied when the second layer of pavement is laid, likely later this month.
Garbage pick-up
Place your garbage at the curb (or behind the curb, if there is construction on your street) on the scheduled garbage day. Priority is supposed to be picking up as scheduled in spite of the construction. Having said that, some of the Priority drivers have been passing by streets under construction, in spite of being waved through by the construction crews. If your garbage pick-up is missed, report it to Priority Waste as soon as possible via the portal HERE or via phone to 855-927-8365. They are responsible for coming back to retrieve the missed pick-ups. Note that Priority will not come on Saturday for a missed Friday pick-up; instead, they will normally come sometime the following week.
Reminders
Please don’t park on either side of any street where there is active construction. Park in driveways or on a different street.
For your safety and the safety of the construction crew, PLEASE SLOW DOWN in the construction zones.
