Construction Update — Green Section 7/8/26

Construction Update from RCOC

**** All planned timing is weather permitting ****

Remainder of this week

  • ‍Allied will continue curb and driveway approach removals on the second sides of Phase 1 streets (Amberly, Endsleigh, Covington Place, Glengarry). Temporary stone approaches will be placed to allow driveway access for the next few weeks. There can be a delay of several hours between removal of the old approach and placement of the stone; residents on a tight schedule should consider parking in a neighbor’s drive or on another street (one without construction) to avoid delays when the removal work approaches their homes.

  • On Thursday 7/9, Goretski’s will pour remaining concrete sidewalks in Phase 2A.

  • Allied will fill gaps between the pavement and new curbs on Phase 2 streets (Tuckahoe, Sunnydale, Hupp Cross, Drury, Morningview and Overhill).

  • Don’s Restoration will reset/repair sprinklers as needed. They will be placing pink flags on lots where they have made repairs but have not yet been able to test the system for leaks. If you have pink flags on your sprinkler heads, please test your system; notify Wayne Dabrowski (wadabrowski@rcoc.org) if there are leaks or something else that needs attention.

Week of July 13

  • Allied will finish curb and driveway approach removal then install edge drain on the second sides of Phase 1 streets. Toward the end of the week, the crews will begin filling the edge drain trenches to prep for concrete curbs.

  • Around Thursday 7/16, Allied will begin work on Phase 2B — second sides of Tuckahoe, Sunnydale, Hupp Cross, Drury, Morningview and Overhill — milling existing asphalt near the curb. Please do not park on the second sides (south or west sides) of these streets during the milling work.

Week of July 20

  • Allied will continue prepping the second sides of Phase 1 streets for curbs. Curb installation is planned to begin late the week of July 20 in these areas; driveway approaches are planned for early the week of July 27. Residents should plan to be out of their driveways up to 2 weeks when this concrete work takes place. Additional information on timing will be provided in next week’s blog post.‍ ‍

Looking ahead

Restoration work (topsoil and perhaps sod) behind the new curbs will begin once concrete curbs have been installed on both sides of the street. This would mean restoration will start in Phase 1 in early August. As indicated above, please test your system if Don’s Restoration has placed pink flags near your sprinklers. Email Wayne Dabrowski (wdabrowski@rcoc.org) regarding any leaks or other issues. Repairing and testing sprinkler now will allow Don’s to fast track sod installation and minimize repairs needed once the sod is in. It is critical that sod is well watered once installed.

Curb and driveway approach removals on the second sides of Phase 2 streets will begin around August 1 with concrete work following about 2 weeks later.

Curb removals and underdrain installation on Bradway will likely start mid- to late-August. Allied plans to block off intersections with cross-streets, and limit thru-traffic on Bradway. These actions will require Village residents to detour around the closed intersections. More information will be provided as we get closer to the time work on Bradway begins.

Reminders

  • Please don’t park on either side of any street where there is active construction. Park in driveways or on a different street.

  • For your safety and the safety of the construction crew, PLEASE SLOW DOWN in the construction zones. Remind young drivers in your household to do so as well. We have had some near misses with drivers traveling far too fast on streets with active construction, often with cell phones in their hands.

Contacts during construction
Questions or concerns arising during construction should be addressed to Wayne Dabrowski, Project Engineer for RCOC, with a copy to Mark Meszler, Bloomfield Township representative for the project.
