Construction Update — Green Section 5/20/26
Construction update from RCOC
Week of May 18
Curb and driveway approach removals will continue on Amberly, moving to Endsleigh, Covington Place and Glengarry in the order described HERE. Allied anticipates completing removals by the end of the day Friday, May 22. Once curbs are removed, Allied will prepare the new trenches for underdrain installation.
Don’s Restoration is closely following the removal crews to reset/repair sprinklers.
RCOC surveyors continue to mark and stake Green section roads in preparation for construction. Please leave the stakes in place for the duration of the project as they provide the markings that guide the construction team on where to place curbs, etc. Residents will want to ensure your landscape crews know not to move the stakes (or any of the signage).
All construction activity will conclude for the week by 3 pm on Friday, in preparation for the holiday weekend. Construction will resume on Tuesday, May 26.
Week of May 25, week of June 1
There will be no construction work on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
Allied will install underdrains in the prepared trenches on Glengarry, Amberly, Endsleigh and Covington Place in same order as curb removals. Once the underdrain is installed, the trenches will be filled in with stone, graded and the area prepped for curbs. This work will continue into the week of June 1. Note: When underdrains are installed, there may be a temporary disruption in driveway access (as much as a few hours) as the crew runs the drain under the driveway approach. Allied will knock on front doors to notify residents that access will be interrupted and allow them to move cars out. If no one answers the door, the work will proceed. The contractors will do their best to minimize the disruption. Residents are advised to plan ahead as the underdrain installation work approaches their homes.
Don’s Restoration will follow the Allied crews to address sprinkler reset/repairs as needed.
Looking ahead —
Curb installation, driveway access limitations on Phase 1A streets
Allied anticipates completing underdrain installation and prepping for curbs by June 8. Curb installation in the prepared areas on Glengarry, Amberly, Endsleigh and Covington Place will likely begin the week of June 8. Residents should plan that they will not have driveway access for about 2 weeks when curbs are installed in front of their homes. Residents will be notified as to the date they will need to have vehicles out of their garage/driveway and parked elsewhere to avoid being blocked in for the two weeks. More information on the curbing process, timing of curb installation and parking suggestions will be provided in a future blog post.
Curb and driveway approach removal on Phase 2A streets
Allied will likely begin prepping for curb and driveway approach removal on Phase 2A streets — Tuckahoe, Sunnydale, Hupp Cross, Morningview, Drury Lane and Overhill, in that order — around the week of June 8.
Parking during construction
Please do not park during the workday on any street where there is active construction activity. This means that parking on Amberly, Glengarry, Endsleigh and Covington Place will be limited for the next few weeks. There simply is not enough room for construction work, parked cars and traffic on our narrow streets. Residents will want to inform guests, contractors, household help, nannies, babysitters and kids home from college of the parking limitations.
Where to park? Your best bet is to park in your driveway, even with multiple cars. Alternatively, arrange with your neighbor to park in their driveway, or park on a nearby street where there is no construction.
Contacts during construction
Questions or concerns arising during construction should be addressed to Wayne Dabrowski, Project Engineer for RCOC, with a copy to Mark Meszler, Bloomfield Township representative for the project. Please provide your address and contact information in your email.
