Construction Update — Gold Section 8/20/25
Construction update from RCOC
Remainder of this week and next week
Mike’s Landscaping will continue restoring construction damaged areas with topsoil and sod. While temperatures have come down from the oppressive heat of last week, newly laid sod still needs to be watered daily. Mike’s anticipates that most areas will be sodded before the end of the month, except for some areas around ADA ramps (sidewalk to street ramps).
Next week, Doan will be pouring ADA ramps where still needed.
All construction activities will wrap up and the contractors will head home by 3 pm on Friday, August 29 for the holiday weekend. Work will resume on Tuesday, September 2.
Looking ahead
Sometime in September, the contractors will begin preparing the Gold section streets for paving by milling off the old asphalt, refurbishing the sub-grade, and grading. Timing and sequencing of these processes are still being discussed. At this point, there is no plan for significant construction activity the week after Labor Day, which should give families a chance to settle into a school routine.
Contacts during construction
Questions or concerns arising during construction should be addressed to Wayne Dabrowski, Project Engineer for RCOC, with a copy to Mark Meszler, Bloomfield Township representative for the project.
